Position Purpose
This position is responsible for the daily operational execution of proper bakery procedures. Primary focus of the position is to uphold the company’s high standards of excellence in regards to food quality, cleanliness and guest service.

 

Accountabilities / Duties

  • Accomplishes restaurant human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Achieves restaurant operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meets restaurant financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Controls costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation; minimizing waste; ensuring high quality of preparation.
  • Publicizes the restaurant by designing and placing advertisements; inviting food editors to review the restaurant; contacting local, regional, and national magazines with feature ideas; encouraging local businesses to hold social events at the restaurant.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; securing revenues; developing and implementing disaster plans; maintaining security and sprinkler systems; maintaining parking lot and walkways.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Manages shifts that include daily decision making, associate support and guest interaction.
  • Planning and setting daily production levels and monitoring proper food handling procedures.
  • Insuring proper staffing levels throughout shift.
  • Ensures that proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Provide associates with positive and corrective feedback and takes appropriate action.
  • Appropriately responds to guest compliments and complaints.
  • Assist GM in implementing and executing various company programs including accounting procedures, menu changes, marketing strategies, and training and developmental processes.
  • Continuously provides a favorable image of la Madeleine to promote the company’s objectives and to enhance community recognition and acceptance.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to deal effectively with associates, guests and vendors, communicate clearly, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Have ability to work in a hands on environment for up to ten hours a day.
  • Organizational skills with an aptitude and desire for managing details.
  • Ability to juggle many projects simultaneously and prioritize the most critical among them.
  • Must be able hold associates accountable for maintaining company standards.
